In 2014, she established LifeHouse Shelter – a safe haven for homeless women with children, and has served in the non-profit sector for over 2 decades, while breaking global grounds, serving in the countries of Brazil & Jamaica.
Karena’s credibility and experience precede her as a positive testimony and proven track record of consistent results, and continual success. Her passion & skill for building others (multi-dimensional women especially) drive her as she serves as the liaison between potential and purpose. Her dedication has strengthened the core of many organizations & has enhanced the face of visionary leadership; producing an abundance of success stories.
She has been recognized in multiple arenas for her work. She is named among the Black Pages “Top 40 Under 40 Entrepreneurs;” has received the ANC’s Humanitarian Award, and because of her impact in the City of Columbia, former Mayor Stephen K. Benjamin proclaimed that October 20th is “KD DAY.”
She is the proud mother of her 20 year old son, Jay; who has made an indelible mark in the world as a professional basketball player since his 11th grade year.
